Flourish launch event for musicians

Join us and learn about performance anxiety, musicians' wellbeing & more!

To kickstart Flourish, we are holding an afternoon session of 15-minute talks on various performance science topics for musicians.

We have gathered doctoral researchers from around the UK to share their research and show you how you can harness their knowledge to help you with your musical journey!

Who is this event for?

This event is primarily for musicians, including students, professionals, and teachers.

  • Date: Wednesday 11th of October, 2023
  • Time: 2pm – 5:30pm
  • Location: Lecture Theatre, Royal Northern College of Music (114 Oxford Road, Manchester)
  • Afternoon tea will be provided
  • We have a limited number of travel bursaries available. Please see below for further information.

How do I register?

RNCM students and staff: If you plan to attend the afternoon tea, please complete the registration form below as we need numbers for catering. Otherwise, feel free to drop in for talks that you are interested in!

Travel bursary

We have some funding to cover the travel costs for attendees based outside Manchester (within the UK only).

If you would like to apply for a bursary to cover your travel costs to attend this event, please fill out the relevant sections when you register. You will be asked to provide a short statement (under 300 words) to support your application. The statement should demonstrate the need for the funding, explain why you wish to attend this event, and how it may help your personal or professional development.

Deadline for travel bursary application: 18th of September 2023.
